The Tailor's Daughter
While Janice was researching her novel in London, she had the pleasure of developing an association with Henry Poole, the 200-year-old Savile Row besoke tailors who have clothed dignitaries such as the Emperor Napoleon III, Charles de Gaulle, Winston Chuchill and J.P. Morgan, and who currently make the Queen's livery. Poole's rich history and tradition inevitably threaded its way into the narrative of The Tailor's Daughter, to the delight of current owner Angus Cundey, whose great-grandfather took over the business in 1876 upon the death of his cousin, Henry Poole. Janice thought it would only be fitting to have a suit made for herself, which also gave her a good excuse to make several trips back to London. It was a great partnership - Poole's loves her novel and Janice loves her suit - a gorgeous navy-blue chalk-pinstripe that 'fits her like a painting' according to one admirer. In December she had yet another excuse to return to London: Angus invited her as guest of honor to Poole's bicentenary bash.
